I was very excited to find your blog about lavender! We just got back from a farm that grows these amazing herbs!
Have a question for you. I want to make some lavender (and other herbal) sugar but would really like to use raw sugar instead as I prefer the taste. If I grind the sugar up to a fine texture do you think it would work?
Thanks for your blog!

Hi Aimee,

I don't see a problem with using raw sugar with lavender as long as the variety you use is pretty dry and the crystals are fine or have been ground. I have instructions for Lavender Sugar on my general herb blog: http://theherbgardener.blogspot.com/2008/01/make-lavender-sugar.html

Good Luck,

Sara
